My mare is sensitive but an angel. This week she has turned into psycho pony! The other mare on the yard has recently come into season and Im wondering if its been the very mild weather that has brought my girl into season or its the change in weather, as in mild and now going colder.
The spooks and bronco's the other night were a bit yikes!! shes being clingy, opinionated and more stressy too.

Yes! I didn't see her, but another livery bringing her mare in from the field said she'd seen her galloping like a mad thing a full circuit of the field, then she stood whinnying at the gate.

Mine isn't a mare, but he's more of a drama queen than any mare I know, does that count? And yes he's lost the plot. I was unsure if I entered a rodeo or dressage lesson last night.

That being said, friend's 22 year old mare is apparently a 5 year old. She's picked up a real, uh, zest for life in the last days!

Yes, we've had galloping zoomies and fence jumping, jogging on the way in and she managed to kick me square on the thigh in objection to having her flanks kicked. She's getting worse as she gets older ?

opposite actually! She was a proper psycho last week, tried A few new careers as a rodeo bronk and a racehorse. This week she’s settled and has decided she’s happy just being a low level dresssage pony

I am sorry to hear you were kicked, but am struggling to understand what happened here o_O

I can't imagine you were standing on the floor kicking the mare in the sides (or, on the outside chance you were- that you would confess it on here ) but if you were sitting on her kicking the flanks, I don't know how she would reach your thigh?

Was some ransomer kicking her?

Were you in a field fight?

Brain fail? Auto correct fail? I'm not sure :-/ It should have said having her flanks brushed not kicked, I was definitley not kicking her ?
