Anyone ever drawn up a business plan?!

My friend and I have been looking at a couple of plots of land for sale in the nearby area and would like to purchase it with view to keeping other horses/ponies as retirement grazing. We wouldn't be able to afford the land without assistance and were considering drawing up a business plan, however have no idea how to/where to start...any tips or previous experiences?
