Random, silly question, but I'd it ok for them? :D
It's my lads 3rd ownerversarry coming up and I want to make him a carrot cake (or end up buying one, as I can't cook!) I'm sure he'll eat it no matter what, just wanted to know if it was ok for them.
Thanks :D

Mine loves bananas....hmmm not too sure I'd feed him banana cake though tbh...he is bananas enough as it is...;)

I make ours Christmas carrot cake bites! They are easy. I just raid the kitchen cupboard for anything horses like to eat.
You mix up a load of grated carrot, 2 big tbsp black treacle, 1 tsp salt, 4 tbsp veg oil, a couple of drops peppermint essence, the contents of a couple of peppermint and/or rosehip tea bags, dried fennel, then add a handful of porridge oats. If it is too sticky still add plain flour (or ready brek if you have it) until it is a stiff paste. You can add broken polos or anything tasty like that too.
Grease a baking tray and put the oven about 180. Then shape the mix into little biscuits on the tray and cook for about 30 mins til they have firmed up. They won't go hard, they stay fairly soggy in the middle. Our horses love them!
