Anyone experienced a horse having a stroke?

what symptoms did they show?

An old pony recently passed away. She was very lame behind on one leg for no apparent reason for a short while, then fell over her tongue went white and seemed un co-coordinated when she tried to get up. She passed away before the vet arrived. It was incredibly sad.
Does this sound like a stroke? maybe a heart attack?

Only a post-mortem will give you a definite answer. My best guess would be a fractured pelvis with rupture of a major blood vessel.

I think a stroke sounds fairly likely.
