anyone fancy casting an eye over a horse for me?

I shared a link to my FB page, made that post visible to Public then shared the link shown on my FB address in the search bar up above on my page. If that makes sense, probably not!

Edited to add I would only do that if you keep all your other posts on FB set at Friends Only.

He looks a lovely sort. A little bit older at 15 but if sound would certainly fit the bill for the mother -teen daughter share we are desperately wanting. He's a TB but appears to have been a riding horse for a long time and is lovely and quiet?

He was first advertised in September last year on Quality Horse and Ponies. The advert there from 24th September gives more detail on who he belongs to and is ridden by. You might be able to find more about him prior to his current owner

Looks like hes's been well advertised and is still available and shes asking what I consider a reasonable price for him and it looks like a very genuine sale?
Just suspicious of why he hasnt sold?

Yes, he really does and the seller has sent me more videoes of him moving well and behaving like an angel, really sweet, I may go and see him as he's approx 1.5hr away?

Good idea I have just asked - its not rude is it, just I am extra cautious due to retiring our cob at 16 due to lameness :(

Not rude at all, but a good way to say it would be along the lines of:

I wouldn’t expect a 15yo to be clean on vetting but it would be good to know his history with you and what any recent vettings may have found, just so I can factor in management if he does prove suitable …

Gives them a big open door to be honest

Not with someone elses money would I buy this horse. Hes a big horse, he's TB, and raced till 8. Even if he passes a vetting now he's at the age where with a horse like that the problems start to show up.

I suspect there is a problem now, given he's been on the market a while. But if there isnt and he vets well now at 15 I would think he might well stay sound another 5 years. Some TBs are very tough and do make sound old bones. Being still sound at 15 would tip his odds, assuming he been in full work from 2-15.

If you want to avoid lameness. An ex racer isn’t ideal.
All ads for ex racers say retired sound. I’d mostly take that statement with a pinch of salt personally. Xx

If he raced until 8 and is still sound and going well, he’s as good a buy as any other horse imo !

Maybe, but a big ex racer at 15 is the age when problems start to show up. If he was 15.2hh I wouldn't be nearly as concerned. I'm very biased against big horses though as I find they just don't tend to stay sound the way smaller horses do.

I had an ex racer, I went for one that had raced retired sound and been in a decent level of work for 2yrs after. But he was 7 and 15.3hh.
