I`ve had my horses on haylage for the past 4 years but in the summer as we were the only ones who needed it, we changed to hay, a lovely green fine hay. 2 weeks ago I went back to the farmer and was told that it is now 50p a bale dearer and with 2 horses worked it out that it would be cheaper to go back onto haylage as another girl wanted it too. Both my horses are now different to ride. One is very spooky and anxious and the other is just full of pepe-le-pues, bounding around or on the spot. This is the only thing that I have changed so it must be the haylage. Has anyone else`s horses gone a little silly? Thanks.

Our farmer has said still another 2 to 3 weeks before our new haylage will be ready. Mine are generally very perky at the moment but I would say for me its the change in weather. The haylage would have Paddy in a tis to start with so might be that.
