Hi,

As of next week, I will be relocating to Gwynedd for a 6 month work contract. I'll be there Mon-Fri, but would love to find a horse to ride during the evenings :D

I'll be based just outside Porthmadog and will have transport. Happy to ride anything 14.2hh+, have previously done BSJA, most recently bought an ex-broodmare into work (black Welsh D in my sig). Does anyone know of anyone who might need a helping hand or any local tack shops where people advertise? Maybe even a trekking centre that wants someone to help get the horses fit for the season?

Would really appreciate some help!
Thanks in advance :)

Bit far I'm Anglesey and could do with someone to ride my nutty cob!!;)

Think Snowdonia Riding Centre is within a reasonable distance for you. Might be wrong though I'm not very good at that area!!

Thanks jsr - shame you're a bit too far, sounds great!

Have just googled Snowdonia Riding Centre - looks close enough, suppose they might be worth an email. Have also found Pen Llyn Lusitanos who are a bit further away but look amazing for a schoolmaster lesson... Might have to save up and treat myself! :)

Just wanted to say your in a lovely part of Wales, we spend a lot of time at Abersoch and around Porth Dinllaen at the other side (more of less just round when we are over in Wales, if you contact a few riding/trecking establishments they hopefully will be able to hook you up with some names and numbers.

Ah thanks Kenzo, I'm glad you've said that, I'm a bit worried about it all!

I'm from London originally, now live in Cardiff, and have never lived outside a city - not sure how I'm going to cope with being rural :o! I nearly had a fit when I found out the nearest Wagamama's was in Liverpool!!! :D ;)

I know people who've booked lessons at Pen Llyn and said its worth every penny!!! I've been promising myself for years to do it, would be lovely to ride something that listens!!!:D

Right, I'm definitely sold on that one. If you fancy sharing a lesson to make it a bit cheaper please PM me!!

Would be so nice to find something else to ride during the week though, I've tried to sign up to the northwaleshorse.co.uk forums but the administrators don't seem to have activated my account yet... :(

Ohh good idea!! I've a friend who keeps saying she'll come to so we could share 3 ways. :D

Just thinking is Caernafon too far for you? Got a friend near there who has a 16.3 ID x Shire who's a bit naughty, she broke her wrist last year and is struggling to get back in the saddle. She has a old loan boy who's safe to ride but she's always complaining about having no one to come ride with her, she's got 2 small kids so finds it hard to escape, and can't hack out alone cos her big lad is a fool!!

Sounds perfect!! :D Website says its £50 each for 3 riders.
I'll drop you a PM in a few weeks when I've moved up and settled if that's ok :) I could either do an evening after work or could stay a weekend and do that if thats easier :)

Just seen your edit - I think Caernarfon could be ok? If you could suggest to your friend I may be interested that would be great :) Will PM you now with my email. Thanks so much :)

I wonder if that's the same owner I saw beating one of his horses with some blue plastic piping one evening (if we are talking about the same establishment).

Oh I am another Anglesey person too far, but you would have been more than welcome to come and ride my boy. He is going to start coming back into work soon. Hope you get something sorted x

Hello! I'm just the other side of Pwllheli, just on the Llyn peninsula. I reckon I might be needing some help! :p Porthmadog is about 20 minutes away from us.
My big cob is on long term sick at the mo but I have a Welsh D cross who needs bringing back into work after back problems.
I have another boy being broken in by Janine at Pen Llyn Lusitanos, he is due home soon. I can absolutely second everything that everyone has said about Pen Llyn....super skilled super horsemanship :) And lovely peeps! Anyway, he will need me to ride him regularly obviously when he returns
Our Shire is also going up to Janine soon for breaking so he will also need riding when he comes back.
I also have a rising 3 year old coblet who is being bitted and walked out on the roads who will be gently backed at the end of summer before being turned away for winter.
Oh and there are 2 proper babies here as well that need playing with.
Oh, and my partner's super safe hippo like cob who also could do with being bought back into work after a winter off.
PM me if you like! :p
