Does anyone know a grey 16.2hh IDxTB called Rocky? He was sold to a man called Barry Holt from Melton Mowbray area in 2006. I would love to know how Rocky is doing.
Hi Just sent you a PM only registered on this site yday so still finding my way around. Rocky is fine and enjoying his hunting with the Belvoir. When I bought him I was unable to ride having had a bad fall so I let a friend Hunt him and he seemed OK. When I recovered I started hunting him and hated him and put him up for sale(bear in mind I had hunted the same horse for 11 years and forgot abt having to form a new partnership) Anyway i was persuaded by 2 local ladies to persevere and in short delighted I did. I rode and jumped him every week - poor sod didn't even have a break but he is the sort that a rest means a huge belly - he's a good grubber!! Several trips to local "UK Chasers courses" - show-jumping at Arena UK,Allington and the Belvoir Hunter Trials - something I never thought ( at the young age of 61) I wud ever do. I reckon March thru October 2007 he jumped 200 x fences and never put a stop in. Hunting however is a bit different and he does put stops in( did he with you) but he takes the Michael if allowed. He is very careful and seems to prefer timber to hedges( ie he can see though post and rails but not hedges) and for starters needed serious encouragement at ditches and dykes
Plse(if you wish) let me have your email address and I will send u some pics - there's lots anyway on www.belvoir-photography.com but you wud need to know which Belvoir meets to look at on the site as theres pics from nearly every meet( and the Hunter Trials)last September) He is in livery at a small yard with 7 companions and has a very good home - this year he will have a rest here at ours and can have fun in 30 acres of grass running with my retired hunters/pointers and 12 Shetlands.
Best wishes and thanks for showing an interest.
