Anyone getting fed up of "winter" allready!!!!????!!!!

Mud, Wind, Rain, and using loads of hay and hard feed allready!!!The good news is that I am smiling!
On a disturbing note "Mary" the mare that I bought to stop her going to the meat man, has still not foaled. She is 18 and incredibly nervous of people - although she does now follow me for a bucket. I have no hope of catching her anytime this year! She is very heavily in foal - but no one knows - or willing to gues when she is due! I just wish she'd get on with it before the weather gets too bad!

Well, I'm feeling quite left out here! Spring has just started and we're in the middle of a shocking drought. Fires everywhere... I wouldn't mind a bit of rain (but you can keep the mud and wind!!)

Hope your mare foals soon! I remember how stressful it is waiting for a foal to arrive. I can imagine if you can't catch her!!

No I'm just sick of Autumn....which is probably the same as your winter! Some days here it is really hot and you are back in little t-shirts and then the next day you are in sweatshirts and a jacket. Wish it would make up it's mind!

I love Winter here - no rain, no mud but we do get our fair share of wind. Winter for us is deep blue skies almost EVERY day, sun shining endlessly and a really beauiful season....albeit a teeny bit cold, LOL!!

I hate this time of year - shall I keep them in at night, shan't I? Shall I rug, shan't I? Heck it's lashing down and my babies are out! Heck, it's scorching and I left their rugs on! Bring on the winter, at least I'll know what I'm meant to be doing!

It's not been too bad here but the weather is very unsettled at the moment.

Our horses are all in over night now too so in a way winter looms ahead!

Mud free zone here!! Last year i was fetching my horses in from the field all winter in Trainers:

lucky you, im already in wellies trekking across the field to mud encrusted hair balls. Mind you we are below the water table so we nearly always have mud and ankle deep water in the front field but come winter proper we practically need a boat!

Its not winter i dont like but the lack of daylight hours really, the rain and mud is poop but its mostly a lack of daylight thats the problem for me, i love the frosty days, beautiful

I would give my right arm for my horse to be covered in mud, and me having to trudge out to the field and back again twice a day - instead he's box rested (nearly 6 months) and I'm shoveling *hit twice a day!!!! Role on next Tues though, he has another scan and fingers crossed I can get on him and he can go out into the mud!!! (restricted turn out, but better than nothing!)
