Hi there,

Im fairly new on here - I went to Melton Horse Sales today and almost bought a lovely little Black Cob Mare which seemed an oldy but goody type (Ive been trying to find a steady cobby plod type for my partially disabled friend) She was well into her teens bless but ....gggrrrr wish I'd bought her now :( I just couldnt really afford her at the moment due to recent unexpected bills........

Just wondered if anyone on here new this horse? She was in the first row 2nd down tacked up and rode around the ring by a young girl who rides for a dealer by the look of it - passport was totally wrong, but I just thought she seemed like a real genuine sort ended up in the wrong place?

She was approx 14.2hh Dales type - real leg on each corner with some slight greying on her face under the forlock.

Any info greatly appreciated - I no where shes gone, so its not to late but I wondered if anyone else had seen her and what the dealer told you etc? Or even if she was yours or someone you new?

Thanks

I did not go to the sale but someone rang me about this horse. I believe it may be one that I gave away as a companion. She is 25 years old. I am trying to locate where she was sold to. Do you have a catalog. Please reply. I can be contacted on jane_hyde@msn.com

If it is the horse that I think she is a registered fell pony. She is large for her size and grey under the forelock. Great natured. I had her for years.

This is urgent. Please reply.

If you are the person that rang me please ring again on 07904 107475 as the number you gave me seems to be wrong. I can ring you back once I have your number.

Hi

Not sure who at you mean by "bumping this for me". This is an urgent matter. I believe a horse has been acquired under false pretext and resold as 10 years younger than her actual age with a false passport.

I am urgently trying to get hold of the catalog so the police can investigate this further but they are not being very helpful. I need to get them to find out the buyer and seller. If I can then locate her then the buyer needs to be told her age so she doesn't get sold on again as something she isn't. She is too old to work and needs a good home. She does not deserve it.

The market won't help me.

Regards

You need Trading Stds not the Police
TS are responsible for horse passports--they will be interested in a horse sold with false passport

Sorry janehyde but this just backs up my stance of either keep your old horses or have PTS at home.. I have heard the same story over and over again :0(

Very true :(
There was a horse there with an ad attached to its pen, saying what a wonderful creature it is etc, the last line read:
Special, 5* home only sought for a very sad sale.

Yeah, right, that's why you brought it to the sales
