I might be going (weather dependent) but would be on my own so looking for a bit of company! Anyone else going along so I can look out for you? :)

Kit: is it as mad as I've heard?? I think I'd be too scared, I'm supposed to be out with the Cambridgeshire on 7th and I'm already nervous... New horse and mine's first time out together :)

No, I preferred it to the Cambridgeshire in truth because the stopping and starting of the foxhounds really wound my horse up. He just got sweaty and excited then cold and pissed off and in the end I had to take him home early as he was starting to stand up a bit :( The draghounds do go fast but I find that allows you to get more of a rhythm. That said, draghunting might not be the best for a first time experience. Enjoy anyway! Where are you going? PM me if you prefer.

Yah it's the going fast that worries me: my own fitness is questionable at best!! The meet is at Connington, which I can hack to (no transport at mo) and I'm going with a friend and can go home if at any point Buddy becomes a mentalist. I'm sure he'll be fine, he hunted a bit in Ireland and I've practised lots of fast canters in company, I've only come off once so far... Have fun at the weekend, maybe if I get really brave I'll join you next season.

We went and my daughter had a lovely day apart from her pony being kicked in the head by a horse that shot backwards into her. Luckily he was ok but when another horse swerved into him as he was about to take off at a jump he took avoiding action and jumped the adjoining 5 bar gate instead. We were so lucky with the weather and the ground was lovely. They seem to be a very pleasant hunt to go with.
