Anyone got a foolproof way for reducing hay wastage?

My mare tears it out of her net and kicks it all over her stable, WITHOUT eating it

Change your hay supply to one that she will eat and use a small hole haynet.

Feed less?
Give her a snack ball so that she can kick that around instead?

Is it with all hay or just this batch. I have known hay that looks and smells good but they won't eat it. It has subsequently proved to be tainted with mycotoxins. Try her on something else.

Echo Haybar. My horse used to do exactly that - pull it out of his haynet and drop it on the floor. With his Haybar, he drops it straight back in the Haybar again.

I shall try a haybar, thanks. She does eat some of it, just wastes a lot, kicking it around and mixing it in with her bedding. I will not take her hay away as she desperately needs it in this weather.
Watching her eat this evening more closely, she seems to drop a lot of hard feed out of her mouth too, trip to the dentist imminent methinks.
