My mini Shettie has been colicy again this morning :( This is the 3rd time now. She's 4 and I've owned her since she was 2. The vet has been and given her buscopan, this did the trick the previous 2 occasions and she is brightening up again already this time. She is usually out in the day from 8am til it gets dark, and stabled on shavings at night. She has ad lib soaked hay in the stable, and a handful of hifi lite and a carrot. Worming is all up to date and she is in v.light work. Apart from adding a probiotic to her diet does anyone have any tips on how to prevent it, or is it just one of those things she is going to be prone to? :o :(

Interesting you mention hi-fi. It doesn't agree with my grubby grey mare at all - she regularly colicked before I had her (thankfully usually mild symptoms, but almost weekly by all accounts) and in the 8 months I have had her, and not fed hi-fi, she hasn't had any episodes.
*Runs off to frantically find something wooden to grope!*
Hi-fi also seems to transform her into a paranoid, mannerless, snorting demon horse. No idea why, even the molasses-free version. It's odd.
