Anyone got a spare £525k please?

It is bloody lovely isn't it - and it's been on the market for a wee while so I reckon if we clubbed together we could get it for the £500k. There's 5 bedrooms but we'd need to buy additional grazing.

Remember though the offers over system is a lot different in Scotland and I suspect they are hoping for at least 650,000. Almost certain you would not get it for under teh offers over price even if it has been on the market a few months. I´ve offered for properties in the past which have gone for 90% over the offers over price!

Remember too that you would spend a lot of time and money commuting from that location - even Edinburgh is 1 hour 15 mins on the train and transport options are not as good as int he south east.

Its quite a nice house but I actually often think if you want a house with land the south east has more "cheap" options. If you are not that bothered about the house and just want something with land then theres much more choice around the 450,000 - 600,000 bracket. The reason being houses with land are as rare as hen´s teeth in Scotland and it is almost impossible to persuade neighbouring farmers to sell land. Hence when a house with land does come up for sale, a premium is paid for it due to its rarity value. The exeption seems to be Aberdeenshire where you quite oftne get a few properties with land coming up which are affordable, often around the 3-400, 000 mark.
