I was wondering what the calf measurements on these boots are. I have rather chunky calves and don't want to order any unless I know that they are reasonable close to my calf width.

Unfortunately I work 6 days a week and can't get to the saddlery to try any on unless I take a day off work to do so. Grrr!

If anyone has similar style boots please let me know too, I will hopefully find something that fits eventually!

The Dublin River boots would be your best bet out of those two. They are quite wide in the calf as I can get them on and I have trouble with a lot of other brands such as Dubarry.

Don't get the Toggi Columbus. They may look wide because they have a lot of room at the ankle, but they don't go out wider at the top of the calf, more like they get narrower because of the bit of canvas and tie. I bought some by mail order but the fit was all wrong so I gave them to my daughter who has skinny legs, my loss her gain!

Toggi Columbus in inches Top (where the tie is) 17
middle 15 inch
ankle 13 inch size 5 boot

I have both and my calves are far from slim... the river boots are nice but didnt last long.... I love my toggi columbus boots they fit well are warm waterproof and toasty and still going strong after being worn day in and out for over a year

I've got the Dublin River boots and I LOVE them!!! No idea on the measurements but I have shortish legs, narrow ankles and quite chunky calves and they fit me fine. I can just about get my calves into Hunter wellies but as another poster has already said can waer my River boots with jeans tucked in.

If you want exact measurements PM me to remind me and I'll do it when I get home tonight.

I have the Dublin boots, they haven't had much wear yet, mainly used for muddy shows on hubby's trade stand rather than actual horse stuff as I'm in my riding boots at the yard.

Mine are wide enough, and my calves are a little on the large side (I can only just fit in standard mountain horse boots and fashion boots are always too narrow). I can just get them on over jeans.

I wish they were a bit longer though. I'm only 5'8" not exactly a giant and they look a bit half mast.....
