Getting a new Ifor Williams trailer. Can anyone let me know if they've got the trailer camera? Sounds expensive at £190 and is supplied loose and you have to fit it. Anyone gone out and bought anything else and if so, any recommendations?

Plus has anyone bought a new Ifor Williams (506) and bought any of the 'extras', if so, what would you get again and what wouldn't you bother with?

Yes i have one in my lorry, it came with two cameras (one for inside and one for reversing) It's fab, makes reversing and parking a doddle as it displays a grid on the screen which lets you know if you'll fit in a space!
It gives me peace of mind that i can check on the horse as he's travelling as well :)

I have one in my trailer, its very good i can watch my cob doing nothing! lol I like that its wireless so when im at shows on my own and i leaver her in the trailer whilst i book in I can take the monitor with me and can see she is ok.
I have the system below from trailer vision, ive had it for 5 years now so would highly reccomend it.

I have two in the lorry one inside and one for reversing which is a bonus as makes checking on what is behind you so much easier. When travelling with noise coming from behind has made it so nice to be able to check without having to pull over. Can't think about going back to not having one.

Have one in my lorry so I can see the horses without keep turning round to check - brilliant for peace of mind, I'd feel lost without it. (And the kids manage to retune it as a TV between classes!).

I dont have transport, but my friend has a lorry we use, and that has a camera in it.

its great watching them - once coming back from a show Teddi was really far back in teh partition we couldnt work out why, and could only just see his head, turned out the haynet had fallen on the floor, and he'd squished himself to eat it. lol
You can also see her horse keep going to take bites from mine, even though he never does lol

Ive got one in my wagon, they give peace of mind but I can see how they could be distracting so I have started not putting it on now so I keep my eyes on the road. Even though its not on, I wouldnt be without it as I can easily press the button to switch it on if I hear something bad going on. I do tend to have a peek when Im at lights though :D. I havent got the reversing camera and I can imagine thats fantastic.

I looked at the 506 but bought the 511 as I have 2 cobs and its wider and much more room I did a deal with the agents to put a camara in it if they wanted a sale and they did to get the sale ,the camara is great peace of mind if anything its like a dishwasher you dont wan't one till youv'e tried it then you wouldn't be without one !!! Also I was told to shut both doors at the back now as these trailers have a good new airflow through and he horses travel much better and it keeps the trailer clean inside, hope you mangage to wangle a camera you have to be a bit cheeky these days for a sale or go somewhere else.

i've got 1 in with the horses, 1 for reversing, and wouldn't be without them now. i used to fret when there was a kick or other noise from the back, now i can tell at a glance that they're fine. well worth the money imho.

I purchased a brand new 506 last October and I went for the camera. My distributer fitted it for me. I agree with the others, It is fantastic. So much more piece of mind, being able to see what they are doing.

I also have the stowage net. Doesn't seem like much, but fab for brushes etc.
The high level brake light - safety
The ramp on the left - unloads onto side of road
Sliding windows - airflow
Full width breast and breech bars for travelling mare and foal.
Lockable spare wheel cover - not worth it , I still haven't put a lock on it!
Graphics- still in my car waiting to be put on - not worth it!

Don't go for wheel covers or alloys if you plan to use a wheelclamp.

Enjoy it, it is a lovely trailer! I love mine!

Yes have one in my lorry, it saves a lot of worrying esp if you are traveling on your own
If you hear a bang or feel a wobble you can see if he's lost ballence or just pulled at the haynet!! great for peace of mind and a must have as far as im concerned...

swapped 505 for 506 and love it only had full length breach bars as extra could do with a hook to hang bridle but fitted a small canvas brush/bottle holder in front for general stuff just ordered camera to go in it after reading this thread.

I have one in my 510 ifor williams. My hubby bought all the bits including an 8" colour monitor for the car - it cost us £70.00 in total.
