Anyone had a forage analysis and feed plan from forageplus?

Due to the dismal state of our hay from last year (due to poor weather), and I'm coming to the end of my extortionately priced youngstock balancer, I thought about getting a personalised balancer recipe done from forageplus.

Any opinions, good or bad?

thanks :)

I had a forage analysis and when the results were in I discussed (by email) with Sarah at Forageplus. We decided that as the only thing that was way too low was Mg and I supplement with that anyway it would be good enough to use their generic summer mix. I do know someone who has a really high maintenance cob who measures out daily rations of this and that, (she is a scientist by inclination lol), it all seemed very fiddly to me. I stopped buying the summer mix at the end of, er, summer, I might start again, but the problems I was trying to address aren't too bad now. It was itching and lack of forward, the latter turned out to be his saddle which has been replaced and we have plenty of forward now!

I have done and it has proved to be very useful. A lot of mineral ratios were out in my grazing and my boy really struggled with his feet (footsore rather than poor quality horn) and this has improved since getting his minerals closer to balanced :) I have since compared some of their ready made balancers and the levels of minerals just arent anywhere near what he requires topping up on... One thing I would advise is shopping around for your minerals (progressive earth on Ebay tend to be cheaper).

I had a hay analysis done last year and a feed plan; it took a while of going backwards and forwards via email but all of the info has been very useful; my feed plan and mineral balancing was done based on the assumption that I would continue feeding the same commercial feed mix I'd been using. After getting my head around the data and what needed to be supplemented, I binned the commercial mix and started on the forageplus performance balancer with added magnesium, linseed, vit E and a little beetpulp to balance my hay - horse's energy and attitude is definitely improved.
