Havent really posted in CR before, but thought you guys may have some experience with lessons/clinics with Jane Peberdy.

I have signed up for a clinic in a couple of weeks (going with a friend on her mare) on my new loan neddy. Its a bit of a baptism of fire as I havent had ANY lessons on him yet (well have one booked in for Monday evening next week) and we're both a little rusty, however I thought it would be a good opportunity to get him out and about to find out what he does when we go somewhere off the yard, without it being a competition.

I know nothing about Jane, and was just wondering what people thought of her/her teaching style etc?

Is it the one at Newbold on the 25th? My other half is taking his eventer there for a 45 min lesson with her. He did the last one there (when the weather was gale force!) and said she was very good and not at all stern like he expected her to be!!! (think it's cuz he knows she is a list 1 dressage judge he thought she might be a bit like a headmistress!). You will have a good lesson and get plenty of tips!

I was meant to go to a lecture demo held by her a while back but a massive accident on the road where I was travelling from meant I spent the time stuck in traffic instead :(

I have heard good things about her teaching

I watched a clinic she gave and she was very good, very much singing to the same hymn sheet as all the coaches seem to be at the moment - evenness of contact, so the pupils had to say what number weight they had in each hand, and then shout that out as it changed over time. Likewise weight in the stirrups.

I think you'll enjoy it.

Yes, at Newbold (although I'm doing Feb 26th - assume you mean the one on 25th March??)

I was thinking the same as you OH about the 'stern-ness' - but good to hear its not the case! think i'm just incredibly nervous i'm going to make a fool of myself/forget how to ride through nerves! (not helped by the fact that I was a livery at Newbold for a number of years, and although i had no issues/paid up to date etc. and only left as I found a cheeper yard and had opportunities to get out more with the firends i was moving with as they have their own transport, sadly the YO seemed to have a problem with it, so not exactly being welcomed back with open arms!)

Oh god - I struggle to get left and right correct let alone adding in weights!!

however, sounds like it will be really useful for me and the ned, its all there schooling wise, just trying to bring it back out onto the surface...

Ive watched one of her clinics and i really liked her. I emailed asking for prices but too expensive for her to come to me!

She seems to have her head screwed on and is very realistic about different horse rider combinations. She also works to try and bring judges all up to the same level.

Id really recommend her, im jealous!
