Anyone had dressage success post OCD?

Hi,

I am looking for some hope for my horse really - he has had a hock arthroscopy and as he is 9 years old, prognosis of doing much in the future seems poor. Anyone been through such an experience that can offer a ray of light please?!

Can I show my igonorance here and ask- What is OCD? I thought it was Obsessive Compulsive Disorder- in that case it's a good thing to have for Dressage! It needs to be perfect! Lol!

Can't offer you much other than wishes for good luck. I retired my 11 yo mare due to OCD after arthroscopy.

As for Obsessisive Compulsive Disorder - actually THAT by definition goes hand in hand with dressage success! LOL. However, the OP means a different type of OCD which is actually bone chips around joints -- better explanation here
