Anyone had horses stolen in Hartney Whitney area?

Just had a strange call from OH. A friend of his had a chestnut mare approx 15hh with a foal at foot and a falabella/mini shetland dumped at his yard in the Hartney Whitney area (Basingstoke way) on Friday.

The YO called the Pikeys down the lane to come and get their horses off her land. They came, stated the horses weren't theirs but took them anyway.

So if anyone has had these horses stolen or lost, can you PM me and I will try to find more details for you.

How on earth were pikey allowed to take horses that they said they didn't own?

Wouldn't have happened on our yard - mind you one of the police equine liaison officers keeps their horses on our yard.

Don't know why the YO allowed them to take them after they had said they weren't theirs. maybe she/he just wanted the problem off his/her land?? Who knows...
