My mare had a. BUsy week hunting and we collided into a jump and later stumbled I. The wood. I suspect she may have sprained her ligaments round her knee..., her knee blew up and she was lame in walk for a week or so. We gave her bute, arnica and put arnica and witch Hazel on too to reduce bruising etc. She has been in the field resting for 3 weeks before I decided to start walking her out slowly.... Now she has had nearly 5 weeks off and is still short in trot. However has had her moments with the odd gallop. Has anyone else experienced the similar problem??? I think rest may be the best option and keep walking her out regularly..

If you dont know why she is lame, just suspecting ligament damage is not really a diagnosis, I would get the vet a scan should be done to give a true diagnosis and appropriate treatment can begin. If she has damaged her ligaments galloping around a field will not help with healing and could cause further damage.
