HELLO I HAVE A HORSE BY STONEGROVE ACE
HE GREW MASSIVE
HE ALSO WEAVES AND DESNT LIKE BEING SEPERATED
HE IS HARD TO RIDE VERY HOT
HE GETS STRESSED REALLY EASILY
A FEW PEOPLE HAVE SAID THIS IS NORMAL STONEGROVE ACE OFFSPRING
OPINIONS PLEASE

Yes, i have a 3yr old filly by Stonegrove Ace.
She's not massive, will prob make 17h at most.
never sat on her yet, has been fine to lunge in tack etc!
Gets panicky when left but that's a natural young-horse thing imho.
Has a very kind temperament, not sharp or nasty at all.
you might be better putting this in Breeding, and not doing it all in capitals... it comes across as SHOUTING and is a bit rude!

sorry new to this
in small letters now
my horse is now 11 , he is 17.2 3/4 and 7ft in a rug .
he is really sharp when being ridden, he is fine to box shoe cathch lead etc but really sharp and spookey when being ridden
he has a massive jump but he is always mucking about spooking cantering side ways etc ehrn being ridden his back teeth etc have been checked he gets ridden in a rubber 3 ring bit and his tackhas been fitted to him
he is lame at the moment in his front left leg
he is chestnut with thin white stripe down face
very handsome!!! (obviously i think that)

well, it could be so many things, i wouldn't blame the stallion straight off! i'd try different management (for example out 24/7, no cereals), i'd definitely try a different saddle with a prolite under it, (not all saddle fitters are brilliant, plus horses change shape quite dramatically sometimes) i'd try a lot of reassurance and taking him on the same hacking route for a few days to see it if calms him down a bit, for e.g.
nice to know he's got a huge jump (hope my filly will have too).
all the best.

Ace progeny are renowned for being sharp - I know the stallion owner. I have an Ace filly who is now 3 and she faffs about a fair bit. My dentist also has an Ace horse who didn't stop growing till he was 17hh. They generally all have super temperaments though (which kind of makes up for the other stuff!)

Penfold is by Akkord the same sire as Stonegrove Ace. I have recently put a couple of videoes on here of him , one of Gatcombe and one of Purston Manor if you look at my posts you will find them .Penfold is the most talented and difficult horse we have ever had , we bred him but he is such a stress head, still i love him

Interesting that you all have big progeny of his. Both last year and this year I have met a young girl when out and about with H at shows, she has a lovely coloured 3yo by Stonegrove Ace, but as he is barely 15.2hh, she is thinking that she will have to sell him, as too small for her... He did seem a little sharp though when I say him last, but it was at a party.....
