ARGH!! I am sure Jack is trying to kill me off with heart failure. So far this week (since Tuesday) he has had lymphangitis, then an allergic reaction to the antibiotics which stopped him eating and drinking and brought him out in a huge rash all over his body. And now this

It looks superficial so hopefully it won't turn into more of a drama. On the plus side the ginger pony is being a superstar, took him out for his first hack (only 3rd time sat on and 3rd time on the road, all other times have been long reining) and was a pro. A touch spooky but baby spooky not silly spooky.

Not sure if the padded cell is for me to rock in the corner in or for Jack but either would do ;)

Oh goodness me - but hopefully it is just superficial. Hope the rash and not drinking has gone now. What a week for you both.
Rocking is very comforting when contemplating what's happened with Jack, but at least ginger pony success is a good positive note.

Thanks guys sounds like we need to invest in a yard of padded cells!! I left him for 5 minutes in his stable with kody outside and that is what I came back to. Think they were playing and he caught his head on the door frame. Well he has lost that privilege now!! Fingers crossed it looks on this morning. Hope your horses are alright goldenstar

Padded cells take up space - a bottle of decent wine is a lot more convenient. And portable.

All very well, but how do you get the horse to drink it? ;-)

OP are there any stationery wholesalers near you? Might be worth looking for some industrial sized rolls of bubblewrap.

Hope that wound is ok. Bet it gave you a fright!

Too early for wine though it is very tempting, back from morning visit to find that the lymphangitis is now in one of the front legs too and making a come back in the back by the feel of things. So antibiotic and antinflammatorys aren't working, He is ok in himself so unless he goes downhill I will contact the vet tomorrow. I was gonna skip over bubblewrap and go straight for those foam pipe insulator things, thicker you see ;)

The way Jack is going I will never stop drinking!! Fingers crossed for improvement. Really don't want to go down the IM antibiotic route if I can help it. He hates needles and I am quite fond of all my limbs and head.

I can see a business opportunity here, padded stables one side and padded rooms the other for the rocking owners, complete with plastic cups for wine haha
