After getting soaked through two days running in my current blouson-style jacket (Joules sale a few years ago so doesn't really owe me anything I suppose

) I stopped by the saddlers on my way back from riding out and bought one of these before I had time to talk myself out of it.

The guy said it was definitely 100% waterproof and it has a non-elasticated waistband at the back with a 'bum flap' so you don't get a cold back when your jacket goes half-way up your back cantering

(sadly being lanky nothing I have is long enough in the back to stay reliably tucked in and I HATE exposing flesh to those behind me

).

I've never seen/heard of them before so can someone please tell me they are good jackets, otherwise I've only tried it on thus far and it could probably go back if they're awful.

Oh yes sounds good. I was wondering if it had a 'vodka' pocket

I am really fed up with my ornella prosperi jacket, you have to wear a fleece jumper tucked into breeches/jeans & preferably into your knickers too

to avoid chilly bits.

I have gone off blouson style altogether but i dont ride on racing saddles anymore

Well you'll be pleased to know I've been wearing it today (too late to take it back now

). I rode out in my jeans (breeches clearly aren't cool) and had no gap whatsoever!

. In fact there was a good overlap. It's elasticated at the front like a normal blouson but has no elastic round the back and a curved tail bit. Sounds weird but looks fine. It's for work as well so it has to look normal off a horse too.

I'll have to do a closer inspection for the vodka pocket though
