Well my 2 yr old has double wolf teeth! My EDT got v excited as apparently its v rare so is going to take some pics next time.

I assume there may be more of an issue with it interfering with the bit? My EDT is not a big believer in removing unless they cause probs? anyone's horse kept theirs?

Rare as hens teeth our Dentist and Vet said. Dentist forgot to take a photo before he took the bottom one out, he was gutted as he wanted one for the record as it was the first one he had seen. I still have the bottom tooth, it is quite small but would have got in the way of the bit.

This was well timed for me. I had the vet over to remove my mare's one and only wolf tooth this morning. We were chatting and I mentioned that my previous horse had had three wolf teeth removed. Vet said 'That's unusual' in a voice that I think meant 'I think you are misguided or making that up'.

But yes, I have had a horse with three wolf teeth, but I had them removed. Two top, one bottom. The vet at the time did seem quite surprised.

I've since been reading up and read that doubles are usually seen in Standardbreds and my filly is Saddlebred so does have that link! Yep it makes sense to have them removed before bitting, I wouldn't like to risk it, I'll see if I can post any pics when EDT is next over in 6 months.

Oh the EDT gave filly her first little tester rasp to see how she'd react and she looked like she was getting a massage, eyes half shut and chilled, weird, good though phew!
