HI!
I've measured my horse for boots and sent the photos and measurements to the saddlery shop. Apparently his hooves don't fall into many boot categories so they have advised to try the 'Easyboot Glove Wide Shells' to get a better idea on fit.

Only worry is- his feet are done every 6-8 weeks, don't grow particularly quick. However they advised with the exact measurements of these boots it's necessary to get them done every 3-4 weeks.

Does anyone use the Easyboot Glove and not get their horses feet trimmed every 3-4 weeks????

Have zero experience of these or any boots so would be so grateful for other experiences!

THANKYOU!!!!

I used easyboot gloves but not the wide version just the standard ones and only had my boy trimmed at his usual 6 to 8 weeks. They do get a little harder to get on as the hoof grows bbut not to the point of not being able to use them. They are a lot more flexible than they wold have you believe and the fittings arent that precise. I fitted mine to hoof length and my boy was a couple of sizes out on the width (so the measurements said) but they fitted perfectly with the power straps on. The best way to fit them is to use the fit kit and try them on. There are little things you can do like slits in places too for a better fit without affecting the performance of the boot.

Thankyou so much for your reply!!! That's very reassuring!

Fit kits on it's way and I'm learning about these 'power straps' too. Good point about them giving abit- hoping they're not going to be as millimetre crucial as they make out...

Oh for those things you had at Clarks when you were little- pop your feet in, get your measurement, away you go. :)

I've got the std width gloves (size 00) and Henry is done every 8 weeks in winter, every 4 weeks in summer. They fit better at the end of the trim cycle (even these are slightly too big!), but I can see how if the hooves fit exactly, you'd need a more frequent trim.

I find they do stretch slightly over time so when you buy your second set you might find that the old set are still fine for later in the trim cycle. Or you might find that you can move the fronts onto the hinds for later in the trim cycle - that's what we do with the glue-ons and it means we only have to buy two at a time.

When you use the fit kit, get the snuggest fit you can; ideally they should stay on reasonably well without the gaiter.

I hired the shells from the Equine Podiatry Supplies website, and am sure there is the option to hire the wide shells. Well worth the £5 hire charge! Also, try emailing Easycare in America. I have sent Nancy at Easycare an embarassing amount of emails whilst getting Gloves to fit my horse, and she has been sooooooo helpful, often emailing me back within a minute! I'm sure she'll help you with your question :)

Thankyou all so much for taking the time to reply!!!

Big big help- feeling less fed up with the whole booting process now.

The fitting shells are on the way. Also found out about these comfort pads you can get, they might pad them out a tiny bit if needs be and also the power strapswill help.

Thanks again!
