My girl is having a full blown twonk-fest, never had a girl season after beginning of October!! Please tell me I won't have this over the winter period too
My little appaloosa broodmare cycled all through last winter!! Nightmare!
Probably because she was in close proximity to my stallion, her son and my gelding (all boys and just her being the only girlie!!). I had two foals from her and sold her last May.
My mare shows signs of seasons if she is in with geldings in the winter, but even if she is with mares her last season would be in october/november anyway. Then she would restart in late march must be honest she is such flirt but is not marish at all to ride.
It wouldn't surprise me one bit if it was my pony, but usually stops later in to winter. Going to expect it now though as my lovely colt is on the same yard and they do like flirting lol!
My two elderly TB mares are in season all year round. They are in the same field as my randy old boy who is also in his late twenties, so it's probably all his fault!!
Some of the mare at the stud where I work are currently in season and my mare has just finished one. If the weather remains mild like it has done for the last week ( I have even turned my heating off) I guess the mare, will still think it's breeding season!
