Aargh, obviously not really but seriously I do have a problem and am hoping for some useful advice.
The lady I share a yard with has two horses, one very gentle ex racer and one, how can I put it nicely, rather boisterous (sp?) 13.3hh youngster. Before I start I do like this lady and she is my friend and I really don't want to cause awkwardness or arguments but I really am getting quite p****d off.
Its basically the pony that is annoying me, and I know its not his fault, but I'm actually starting to hate him and this morning really was the end of my tether.
On Sunday me and my partner split the field in two with electric tape as we (me, the other lady and the YO) decided that we needed to rest some grass over the winter, but this still leaves them with about 2.5-3 acres, and as all 3 are a bit on the chubby side it will do them no harm at all. Anyway they have all been happy on their side of the fence until this morning when I went down to whip my mare's rug off to find her looking at the other two on the other side of the tape. The TB happily grazing, the bloody pony wrapped in tape. He had obviously just walked straight through it and didn't seem to give a monkeys about getting a shock or being wound up in tape.
Now I wouldn't be so annoyed BUT he has also destroyed, and when I say destroyed I mean absolutley wrecked to point of there being no point to it at all, a wooden fence along the side of the field. The fence was broken when I moved my horse in there so me and my partner spent an entire afternoon fixing it only to go down the next day to find it in pieces yet again. He has no respect for fences, other horses (I often see the other two 'warning' him, ears back, lifted legs, etc. and I've actually seen have a fight with the other gelding which left him with a pretty bad wound on his leg as TB is shod and pony isn't) or people (although he is getting better with this but I feel bad about being 'firm' with somebody else's pony).
He also has pretty bad sweet itch, which is another reason he breaks the fence as he scratches on it.
He is only 3 and the lady has said she wants to sell him, she says she has tried to sell him but nobody was interested. I just don't know what to say, I'm bloody sick of her pony, but feel sorry for him at the same time, and don't want to cause trouble
Beef monster munch and orange squash for anyone that managed to read all that...
