Bought new blade for my clippers online through an ebay shop .Blades came quickly and daughter started to clip next day .Got approx square foot area clipped tho daughter complained weren't going through hair properly then the became practically blunt just not cutting. We compared them to original blades we got with clippers and the smaller blade has shorter teeth on new blade. We sent pictures from them to compare and they admit look different.
We have contacted e bay shop through email who said to OH that she would give him the number of WAH so WE could phone them.OH said would prefer refund as blades are not cutting! They should be bloody phoning!!!
Now got a reply saying send them back and they will send them to WAHL to be tested.Returning blades is not a problem but I didn't buy direct from WAHL (I see it as my contract is with shop)so don't see why they can't refund/give working set of blades (no offer of that either btw) other than offering to give phone number or return them to WAHL still leaves me bladeless
So anyone know what to do??Ebay?Or is there a online trading standards place????
TBH won't be using them again and won't be recommending them either exact opposite
Anyone else had bother with these blades??

Don't worry - I had the same problem with mine all the time, regardless of how sharp the blades were.

If you fit them on with the motor running, then flip down onto the body whilst still running, that come somtimes help.

If you do a search on here there are other people that have had the same problem and is more to do with the alignment than the blades.....

hi. I have had a problem with the blades as initially I couldnt get them to attach properly. but, I do also now attach them with the motor running, push down on a hard surface and they simply click on. I also purchased a spare set of blades from a clipping company and they are fine too. Since then I have had no problems whatsoever, and would recommend them to anyone. I guess they are not clipping properly as they may not be fully attached (and it is a bit of whatnot!)

Did you get the wide blade with your clippers and youve now got the narrow ones from ebay??? If so they are different cutting lengths and that might be why your having problems. the narrow ( smaller ) blades are usually finer and will struggle through some hair. Are the blades showing the same cutting length on the back??

Sorry if ive got this wrong, am not meaning it to sound that your thick or anything!!!

edited to add:- sometimes depending on where i buy my blades a size 10 blade has a different cutting length than say another make's size 10 ( that you can use with Avalon )

Are they the Moser Horseline ones? If so, I did this^^^^! Also, if you look at the bit where the two blades come together, there should be a very thin bit of plastic. I dint see it there and managed to lose it and the blades wouldn't cut. Hope that isn't teaching you to suck eggs - they are my first clippers so not sure if all blades have this plastic bit!!!

Could be one of a coupe of problems. Either you have lost the plastic tensioning 'foot' that fits between the 2 blades, without this the 2 blades just don't work together to cut.

OR, and this is the most likely with size 10 blades for Avalon) there is a short hair between the 2 blades, slide the top blade ALMOST (not fully) right the way across and give it a blast with cleaning spray, the slide it ALMOST right the way across the other way...and give it a blast, this should remove the hair ad restore the correct tensioning.

Unfortunately this seems to be a common problem with the Avalon blades - not sure if it happens with all pre tensioned blades?

My next set of clippers will NOT be tensioned blades!

I actually do a full clip with the small face blades now because the tensioning problem doesn't seem to happen with those.
