Anyone heard of these (Insurance company)

I have no intention of using a completely random company, but just wondered if any has? Are they more a small animal company who have branched into horses?

My friend used to work for them. As far as I'm aware they're relatively new. Think when my friend started they weren't writing equine but were planning to so possibly they've only been doing equine business for about 5 years?

Think they are a small company. Not had any dealings with them so can't comment much on their service!

Never heard of the company that Underwrites them either.

Have my two cats insured with them. Think they've only revently branched out into equine.

Claims team is very good as I unfortunately had to find out.

Would recommend.

They have been fabulous with me for the last 12 months. My daughter's dressage horse needed emergency and extremely complicated colic surgery last April. It was during the weekend, so I couldn't inform them first. It was touch and go for a month. When I finally got round to ringing them, the girl on the phone was lovely. Sympathetic, and very helpful (had lost her own horse to colic, so was very understanding and reassuring). I passed my claim form on to my vet, he filled it in and posted it. 6 weeks later they rang to tell me the full £5000 was in my bank account!
Then 2 months later, he acquired a complicated foot abcess (doesn't do anything by halves...)again, 3 weeks later, money was in the bank.
THEN....in October, he was found to have damaged his Sacroilliac joint, and had PSD in both hinds. This time, 2 weeks later, and another £2000 in my bank.

They are underwritten by Red Sands Insurance Company, Gibralter. (JUST checked my policy)

My excess is only £125, and I pay monthly, AND get multi horse discount!!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! :):):):)

Had my dog with them paid the top premium, they refused my first claim form, after my vets help and threatening to report them to the ombudsman they did pay up. Very rude and unprofessional.

I have two of my horses insured with them and have had no problems at all. I'll be getting my new trailer insured with them too when it arrives in February.

Thats brilliant!
Its just so hard to know what to do for the best sometimes. ***Touch wood*** i'll never need to claim, but I dont want a hard time if I do. On their website they have a Facebook page so I might have a nosey on there.

Thanks everyone xx

2 of my dogs are insured with them. The company donates a percentage of your premium to animal charities I think, so seemed ethical as well as competitive rates. Not had occasion to claim, am touching wood as I type this!!!!

I switched to them last year as nfu went up so much... they dont cover as much as nu so be carefull if you need transport paying, or stabling costs or change of bedding as they dont cover these. Somebody on my yard had a good experience claiming and I have a claim ongoing which they have handled well. Not as good cover as nfu but cheaper.
