Belle is curently on shavings but i am a currently looking at other bedding alternatives for her.

I have tired straw which she was soooooo messy on, she seems fine with shavings i just find them expensive & she goes through them very quickly, dont like deep littering

My freind uses wood pellets but I am not sure how Belle would get on with them as she likes a big bed, cushionbed seems like a good alternative.

Nope, deffo not. I used cushion bed for ages (before the factory was set on fire and struggled to get it) and didnt find it anything like bedmax. I used bedmax for my lad for a few weeks and it was horrible, he used to mush all the wet & dry stuff together so it was one big mess in the morning. I adored cushionbed as the wet sinks to the bottom and gives a nice firm layer (i deep littered it) but the poo sits on top so it's really easy to get out. I topped up with about a bale per week which was plenty and it's dead cheap. I'll definitley be going back onto it as soon as we can get it delivered to the yard.

I used it for most of last winter until i moved yards and ran out. I really liked it, didn't smell as much as shavings and doesn't seem to move about either so my pony didn't bury everything like he does on shavings. It works best deep littered but you can get everything out everyday.
