I have been told by my trainer that I need a rubber/vulcanite bit with a small port in the middle. Does anyone know if there is such a bit and who makes it or where I can find it.

Your horse must have a big mouth to take a rubber ported bit! Theyre not the slimmest bits available and unless your horse has a very slim tongue and high palate it would struggle with that combination. What cheeks do you want? Snaffle, pelham, loose ring, eggbut ring? There are loads of options and they will have a big variation in their action.

Why not ask your local saddlery to order the exact one you want?
 
Thanks Jog, my trainer rode her in a rubber pelham and she respected this so he thinks that a small port with a little leverage such as the pelham will work as she lands heavy on the bit after a fence, so she needs something to help her come up straight away and he thinks this will help. Thank you, I knew I could rely on someone on here to find one. Now I know what they look like, I`ll look on Ebay for a used one. lol.
 
Hi teddyt, thanks for replying. I think he`s on about the pelham and Jog has found one. I wouldnt have thought that there would be enough room but she seemed happy with the rubber pelham and she accepted it ok.
