i have got a friend who has land and a few stables, she has mentioned to me that if she got a horse she couldnt afford to keep it by herself so me and my riding friend would share it with her. i just wanted to ask if anyone has done something like this before?

i am a little cautious about going into the deal as the woman doesnt know alot about horses and i dont want to have a useless spoilt horse for me to fix all of the bugs the others have given it.

i also dont want to be the one that has to do all of the work because i wouldnt want the horse to suffer

do you really want to put yourself in that position. You dont sound very confident about your friend.

My initial concern would be that if your friend owns both the land and stables and still cant afford to keep the horse by herself then shes not going to have much cash to put into a horse if something god forbid goes wrong. it sounds to me like your friend has decided she wants a horse and is just tagging you two in to care for it. and again if god forbid something does happen then its going to be you left with the cost and the care.

i do trust her, i just know what she can be like with some things.
she has recently gone through a divorce and has only got the house as her mum owns it. she wants a horse to ride, but she hasnt ridden since she was 25ish. i dont want to be left with alln of the vets bills too as one of my other friends horses has had to have over £7k of vet work... but thats another story.
