I'm going to Oz for Christmas. They don't have mince pies/pudding etc mainly because December is the height of summer there and too bloomin' hot for stuff like that. Apparently, they have Christmas dinner in the middle of July which is mid-winter there (so it's quite chilly at about 22 or 23 degrees!!!!)
Hi from Down Under, Yes you can get all the xmas trappings here, in fact they will be appearing on our shelves shortly- eek. Lots of people have seafood or cold collations as the middle of the day can be warm, but there are still many traditionalists who have the works!
Ditto colmio (I used to live near Melbourne). There is also a tradition of 'Christmas in July' where people often get together to have a kind of second Christmas dinner when it is actually vaguely winter - and yes, a fair few shops do 'deck the halls' twice a year...!
