I'm quite keen on the idea of taking my horse out cubbing this coming season, but was talking to YO last night and she said it was £80 a day and that the people who hunt with the Fernie are really pretentious and not friendly at all

I didn't think it was that much on all of the days? Does anyone know? I do know a few people who hunt with them and they are nice enough, but now I'm worried about going in case the majority of people aren't friendly :(

Hi, I've been out with the Fernie a few times & always had a good day, on the whole everyone was lovely but I remember a few grumpies - maybe they were just having a bad day. If you manage to get a day for £80 you'll have done well. If you are under 25 (might be 21) you will get a cheaper day. Where abouts are you? The Atherstone are very friendly and offer some very good newcomer packages. Go & have fun ....you'll love it. Sxx

Thanks! Sadly I'm not under 25 :( so no deductions there then! I'm fairly near the Atherstone so thats a possibility. I didn't realise it was so expensive tbh - I used to go out with the Quorn but we didn't have to pay then and I've been drag hunting which was always about £25 for a day!

Thanks for the info :)

Autumn Hunting is only about £20 with the Atherstone - that might be subscriber rates but I'm sure they'd do something for you as a newcomer. If you like I will PM you the cap secretary's number

thats expensive! ours is only £20 for an adult- £10 for a child, subscribed or not for child and about £35 for unsubscribed adult... cubbing will be cheaper though...
had a hunting day with fernie last year (have a day with fernie, quorn and fitz william each year when staying with my aunt with my horse) and i really enjoyed it!
