Hi, I am Stimpy's mum. Have gone back into riding after a long break. I have on loan a lovely 17 year old cob called Clyde. We have land and stables attached to the house. Until recently, two girls kept 3 horses here but they have left to go to a huge yard with more facilities. My problem is my boy is bomb-proof in company, in fact he exudes confidence and gives it to the others. On his own he loses his confidence and with a less than confident rider on top he can be difficult. Not naughty, just stubborn about new places etc. I came off just before Christmas, not really his fault. Because the leaves had now gone, he did not know of the existence of a pony in a field. It suddenly appeared like a wraith in the mist. He shot to the right and then immediately left, so I went out the side door. No problem, I was not hurt, but it has dented my confidence. Hubby, bless him, has offered to get a bike and come out with me, but he is not well right now. Anyway, I am looking for a happy hacker to come and live with us(the horse not the owner) and ride out with me just a couple of times a week. Clyde is recovering from a severe injury and cannot canter yet, but will soon be able to. The new person can go and do their own thing the rest of the time, all I ask is a companion a couple of times a week to get me back in the saddle. We charge £45pcm for field and stable and can take at most 2 more horses.(have decided to cut down to save fields) Any ideas?
