Almost 30 dogs were taken to the council pound in Carrickfergus on Thursday evening. Look for 'Gale's Doggie Page' on Facebook for pics and more info.

Worth noting for anyone still labouring under the misapprehension that pounds and rescues only contain elderly Staffs :(

OKAY FOLKS, 28 DOGS WERE BROUGHT INTO THE POUND YESTERDAY EVENING...8 WEE SALUKI PUPS, GREYHOUNDS, LURCHERS, A BASSETT HOUND, A LAB, ROTTI/MASTIFF X, SBT X & SEVERAL WEE TERRIERS....WITH 28 DOGS COMING INTO THE POUND IN ONE NIGHT IT HAS PUT THE STAFF & AVAILABLE SPACE UNDER STRESS...PLEASE SHARE TO GET SOME OF THESE DOGS OUT INTO LOVING HOMES OR RESCUE...WITHOUT HELP DOGS LIVES ARE IN DANGER :( THANK YOU - GALE XX

Another post: They have a Cairn terrier (the breed from which Westies were originally derived), a Schnauzer and a number of very pretty terrier crosses. Please phone Carrickfergus Pound on 028 9335 1639 and/or just call up during their visiting hours: Monday to Friday 11-12.30 and 2.00-4.00 pm; Saturday 11-12.00 noon, closed Sunday.
