Would you think £200 per 4 weeks would be reasonable for 6.25 acres?

I've been umming and arring about a field for a week now as it really does seem too cheap! The only problems I can see is that about 2 acres of it (in a separate paddock from the rest) may get waterlogged - I'm waiting for a big rain session so I can go and have another look.

What would you think/do?

No, it's dear to me! Around here, grazing on a summer let is about £100 per acre for six months, see the difference?
It does depend on how you can use it, how many horses you can have on it, how long it's guaranteed to you for, if there's running water, good fencing and so on also how popular the area is for horses whether it would get snapped up by someone else or whether there's a chance you could barter a bit more.

Well I currently pay £170 pcm for 2.10 acres with 2 stables, no running water electricity etc so the field I'm looking at is much cheaper.

There is running water but I believe rates would be payable. I think the field has been empty for some time but not sure how long it's been on the market. The fencing is quite poor. There are 2 stables available but they are literally right next to the house.

In that case, it might be a good option for you just watch you don't get fleeced over the water bills and see if they're willing to help do the fencing, it is their property after all.

I pay more than that for 6 acres. I suppose it depends what use you will get out of it. Mine is very dry so I can winter out 3/4 youngsters or anything not in work without worrying about them standing on wet ground 24/7 so to me it is worth it.

You seem to pay loads, I pay £300 per year for 3.5 acres. so that works out at £25 a month.

We built our own field shelters and have electricity in them buy using car batteries, and we collect rain water from them to save us water.

But we did have to fence it off ourselves and we're just left to it, the outlay cost was a fortune (fencing, shelters etc) but in the long run its cheaper . :)

I live in the middle of agricultural land and found out recently that agri rent is £50 per acre per YEAR!! However even after offering them 12 times that much they still wont rent me any land so this field is 15 miles away from me( the current field is 20 miles away!)
