I'm considering going on a riding holiday in Ireland over the summer and both of them look great from the websites. Does anyone have any opinions about them, or could anyone recommend anywhere else that takes unaccompanied teenagers?

thanks.

I've competed at both venues a few times

Clonshire is very nice, but Mullingar isn't that great tbh... I'd highly recommend Annaharvey Farm in Tullamore as well

I taught at Clonshire in the early 90's. It was a fantastic place then and I know that Dan and Sue Foley who manage it have continued to improve it over the years.

One area where they've been really consistent is the quality of horse they produce - it's not unusual to see a horse produced by Dan wearing rosettes at the RDS one day, out hunting the next and trundling around the arena the day after!

On that point, the County Limerick kennels are just a few yards down the lane...

I would also recommend Annaharvey Farm - they hold 3 star events, so the cross country facilities are well up to scratch. They also have decent horses for those who want to be put under a bit of pressure
