As title, I don't mean as in % of total intake, but more in terms of what energy feed they need for the work they are doing? ie: a way to find out if you are going to provide too many calories for their workload...

I know there are guidelines on light-medium-hard work routines, but I find this hard to use...many people would probably class my horse as doing at least medium work, but the feed companies websites seem to indicate it is more light....

Anyone know the proper scientific figures of how to work this out??

I'd suggest giving a couple of the feed companies a call and talk to their nutritionists. That way you can cover your ned's workload, any feed intolerances, temperment etc and hopefull you will be in a better position to make up your mind.

Good luck. Be interested to hear how you get on.
