Just deworming our ponies, and 12hh pony put up a huge tussle, with the result that I decided to hold him, and let dh do the worming.
Result was the 'locking' thing on the wormer unlocked and 250kg pony got 700kg worth of wormer!
In the old days I wouldn't have worried as we routinely double dosed at some times of the year, but I am out of the loop regards the modern stuff - this was Equimax .
Rang our vet who just said, 'Oh I wouldn't worry, they're very safe these wormers' without turning the telly down (yes, we are changing vets)
Gave pony a hefty bran mash.
Not helped by the fact that they are in tonight - we have to get them in when bad weather is forecast, they may have to stand in the barn tomorrow, too. And by the fact that he is the oldest of the lot at 21.
Am now worried sick about pony!
Anyone got any further advice to offer?
