I am after a good book to read, getting fed up with watching tv and would like to get my nose into a good story, preferably horsey, something like horse whisper or Danielle Steele Palamino, Any idea's please! Thanks for your help in advance.

In the pink (it's about two sisters who give up london buy two horses and a lorry and rent a cottage and hunt in the hope of finding a rich husband), i forget who it's by, but a very entertaining read.

Book called (I think) the evolution of horses by a guy called Stephen Budiansky. He also has a good one called 'If a lion could talk'.
Not sure if they are the kind of books you would like, both are about behavioural stuff. Might help when it comes to understanding horses sometimes!

I am not much of a story book person (unless Douglas Adams is the author), but I have just finished three books (omnibus edition) written by Henry Blake. They are highly entertaining, as his style is decidedly non-PC, as well as putting forward some interesting ideas on horse handling and psychology.

I'm not sure if they are still in print, but I got mine from fleabay for a few pounds.

All the books by Mark Rashid are a really good read, all told in an anecdotal kind of way, with lots of humour. They're all on Amazon quite resonably. Happy reading!!

All the Jenny Pitman novels. The first one's particularly good, called "On The Edge". They're best read in order 'cause they do follow on.
