Hi

I am new to Bristol and hoping to take up riding again after about 10 years off and would like riding lessons to build my confidence back up, I would say that I am intermediate level.

Does anyone know of a good riding stables in the Bristol or Bath area which they can recommend?

Alternatively I would be interested in helping out and paying a private owner for lessons if they need help exercising their horses.

Thanks!

I learnt to ride at Leyland Court near Winterbourne. It was good then, nice facilities, great xc course. But that was a while ago now, so it might have changed.

Thanks, I was actually there last Sunday with a friend who was competing at a dressage event. Unfortunately they don't seem to do any lessons there, just events and the XC course.

Urchinwood in Congresbury on the A38 to Weston is quite good.

I haven't had a lesson there but my son has and I thought the instructors were good with him. Was considering booking myself some lessons to get my confidence back with jumping but have now joined a RC so will do lessons through them now.

I rode at Urchinwood when I was working in Bristol for a few months a few years ago and would rate it. Good facilities and instructors and nice horses.
