Hi looking for a saddler in west york's area to come to me and fit 2 saddles, anyone know anyone good? They would need to carry second hand stock as both ponies are young so don't want to spend an obscene amount to start with, but obviously want to make sure it fits properly.

David Baxter from Throstle Nest Saddlery has a large range of new and used saddles, he can call to you or you can tale your ponies to him.

I don't think Throstlesnest will come out with 2nd hand saddles, only new ones. Foxes from Wetherby will come out, but charge mileage. If you can box over, Ride-away have a menage for testing saddles, but don't appear to have a fully trained saddler on their team.

This topic has come up a few times before for W/Yorks, so well worth searching the archive (I find it easiest to put the search term in google then add site:horseandhound.co.uk/forums).

David Baxter will come out with 2nd hand saddles but will charge for the visit. Think he makes no charge if you are buying a new saddle though. If you can get to Throstle Nest they allow you to take saddles away to try yourself. Then if you think you may have found something suitable he'll call to check the fit.

Another vote for throstlenest. Does come out with second hand saddles and waivers fitting charge if u buy one. If not I think charge is 50. Hey farm near huddersfield not bad either but unless you are local you have to go to them.
