A friend has a quality TB mare, very well bred, who has produced a stunning filly this year.
Lottie was raced as a 3 y/o, then played polo, and then went through many homes which were not suitable (and was in the end mistreated), and ended up being nearly un-ridable.
She is however suitable for breeding, as she has a lovely nature, good conformation, etc and her first foal seems to have really calmed her down, and she loves life at the moment, lazing about.
For this reason, her owner is looking for a stud/breeder to take her on permanent loan (or have her until they do not need her), as she once was a lovely horse, both ridden and on the ground. She feels she is too good to be put down at the age of 11, however she cannot afford to keep her, nor does she need her.
I did find one stud that stated that they occasionally take mares on a permanent loan basis, but for the life of me cannot remember the name of it.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
On a side note, I know how many of you feel about breeding from "anything" etc, but she isn't and if her owner doesn't find her a home, she will be put down, as she won't see her be passed from hand to hand, let alone meatmen and auctions.
