Hi, Just looking into other options for myself at the moment....

I am after assisted DIY offering feeding, bring in and turn out daily... and to include the price of hay and shavings, though i suppose this isnt essential as long as there is somewhere to store stuff.

Turnout is the key though.. I would like to be able to turnout for about 8-10 hours a day.

Oh and a school of some description is essential.

Anyone please

I am nice!!!!

How about Albany or Beaconhill in Fleet ? Both have turnout but I'm not sure for how long. Both have indoor schools and as far as I'm aware they both do assissted DIY.

Thanks.... know both well but on one of them and wouldn't go to the other!!!!

Turnout is very limited where I am and the stable stinks as he is in there so long per day!!!!

There must be others around but I cant find them. I came from a yard with fantastic turnout but no school and moved for the school, but the turnout situation is far from good. Its sad because I really like the people there.

Are you at a yard locally????

You aren't accepting PMs but if guildford/shalford/wonersh area isn't too far from you, i know of someone who may be able to help you out. I am not 100% of her livery space anymore but she has a school and good turnout which i'm sure she'd be willing to let you use 8hrs a day.

Thanks Becky.... I would rather stay farnham area though as my kids go to school there and its nice to know I can be at the school within mins if there is an emergency..... and there often is, as one is asthmatic!!!!

strangely its always when I am half a world away riding over the common!!!

Have turned my PMs on now (I hope)

I'm at a yard in Winchfield but we have no school which is a bit of a problem . There are a couple of places towards Hartley Wintney that I know of but not sure of vacancies. Have you tried Hungerford (Dogmersfield)or Knowle (behind Old Park Stables)

Thanks again mudsplasher...

I know both of those yards too... I learnt to ride at old park in the seventies, but dont think its the yard for me, they do full or diy but nothing between, though if you mean Carl Belsons place I'm not sure about that.. I looked there when moving last year.. and hungerford is a bit too far out for me.

Please keep thinking... do you know anyone at beaconhill???

I'm pretty sure there's one that advertises every week in H&H magazine - the ad just says 'Livery Yard set in Farnham' or something like that - no details.

Dont know if they are stll running but if you went up Castle Hill (I think thats what its called - its been a long time since I was down there) turn left onto Old Park lane.... follow the road (track) up and then turn left..... you'll find two houses on the left.... go to the second house and ask there as they used to do livery..... also further down that lane is another stables.... Worth a try and you cant get much closer to Farnham!

Hi

What about Wishanger Park in Frensham? It used to be an Equestrian centre (I used to keep my boy there about 10 years ago - regretably!) and about 5 years ago it was split into a very fancy show jumping yard and a very nice livery yard. I worked there as an EDT and very impressed with what has been done to the place and its right on the common!

PM me if you want the owners details.

Thanks Ovidius, that yard used to be owned by my friend sarah!!!

They have now moved and its all private again..... but now they have the best outdoor school ever... its so not fair :-(

Thanks also to victoria but frensham is the wrong side of farnham, but I might look into how long it would take to get over the notorious A3!!! I am sick of trying to dodge the wardens on the MOD land, but wouldnt mind frensham common.... soooooo sandy!!

No probs!

I used to ride on MOD land near Liphook when I was younger and used to make it my mission to find a warden and then try outrun him.........very stupid idea as my cow coloured cob is not very inconspicuous!
Living in Somerset now, I realise that Frensham and surrounding areas probably has the best hacking in the country and miss it so so much!

Why would you need to cross the A3 to get to Frensham from Farnham?

Been warden dodging today over the mod land at tweseldown!!! Have realised that i dont want to dip out on the hacking that I have literally 50 yards from the yard.... but would dearly like more turnout..... oh well cant have it all i suppose!!

I never was good with A3/A31 even though i have lived in farnham all my life!!

Keep having to come up with different strategies to keep the warden off my tail, from false addresses to pretending i am deaf!!!
