Anyone know what this is? Missing tufts of hair.

I noticed a couple of days ago that Jack has these random bald bits.
It almost looks like it's been raining and the raindrops have landed and rubbed away his hair.
They aren't sore and on both sides of his body but only just in front of his flank.
Any ideas?

My youngster has this on his bottom next to his tail, he got it last summer too but couldn't figure out what it is.. He's not rubbing it, it's not itchy, sore or dry skin.. The hair is just missing in a rain drop type pattern. I can take a picture tomorrow to see if it compairs to your horses bald spots?

My boy has a bit of this, I think some of it is where he is loosing his winter coat but his summer coat hasn't come through yet.

I also think some of it is a bit of rain scald. Keep and eye on it, I've been putting coconut oil on his to promote hair growth.

Sounds very similar! I'll take a photo tomorrow too :)

Thanks, will keep an eye on it, have been putting Mega Tek on it.

um my sisters mare had something similar last year. We didnt know if she had been bitten as they appeared overnight real ie 1cm diameter neat circles. She got most of them on her face and if we didnt deal with them they went a bit wet. So we just daily sudocremed them(purely as it was tacky cream and didnt get washed away so easily).
My horse was with hers and he was fine! Nothing. They did clear up and we put it down to flies.

I noticed few days ago my boy has the same kind of thing, a nearly bald bit on his face, 2 small bald bits on his neck and 3 or 4 on other small parts of his body with no hair (about 1cm diameter each time)
Not sure what it could be as it hasn't rained for days? (Or hasn't it got anything to do with rain?)
I don't think it's ringworm but I may be wrong.
Any pictures please anyone?

Thanks!

My lad had this a few months ago it was a form of ringworm but looked nothing like ringworm as I know it! Not scabby or sore and no raised skin. A few days of imaverol on the bald bits sorted it within a week.

I asked my friend today about Imaverol (which we have in France) and she had never heard about it so I'm glad you're confirming we can buy it over here! (I forgot to check on internet earlier!)
Not sore or scabby either on my lad, just a tiny patch with no hair!
Will wait few days and buy some if doesn't get better.

Thanks!!
