Hi there,
I used to be an active member on here a few years back and then drifted away, so i thought id come back to say hi and pick brains!! :)
I have recently moved to south Australia and am struggling to find any horsey company and friends with similar values. After selling my horses in England and now having no horse contact life can be pretty boring! Never thought I'd miss poo picking but I do!! There is a fairly big horsey community around where we live but no one seems very welcoming!

So if there's anyone out there who is also in oz I'd love to hear from you

Thanks guys :)

Hello :)
I'm origonally from England, but living in Sydney now. Shame you're not about 1000km closer, you'd be welcome to do my paddocks poo picking. :D

I agree, life is very boring without a horse... are you in Adelaide or the bush?

I don't know about SA, as I was only there for about 7wks, several years ago, but are there any adult riding clubs you could join?
Are you in a position to buy another horse while you are here?
Do you like to compete?
Maybe you could get a share ride? ( lots of questions )

I've found pretty much everyone to be friendly, some of the methods are a bit different to the BHS yards I was used to in the UK, but thats ok... more than one way to skin a cat.

Kx

Thanks guys. We're in mount gambier about 5 hours from Melbourne or Adelaide in either direction! Abit far from Sydney!! Atm im not in the position to buy another horse, and people don't seem willing to give lessons on their own horses etc, however I know once i find the right people it will be fine! It's just hard not having any horse contact or having to get out of bed to feed horses etc. I have contacted local clubs but without my own horse they can't really accommodate me.
Don't get me wrong it is great over here, and I had the chance to ride a quarter horse at a professional yard in Melbourne which was great, but 5 hours travel!!
