The title says it all really. Do we have any members on here who live and keep horses in Spain?

Am terribly interested in how things of an equine nature work over there.

Thanks

Freckles does, she has got my mares 1/2 sisters and brother

Hi,
yes I do, been here 2 1/2 years now, I have 6 horses (2, I bought over from the UK, 2, I bought here, and 2 foals we bred last year.)
Like Dressagespain asks, what do you want to know?

DressageSpain, have you been on my website for horse owners in Spain, perhaps you could add to it re; tack shops, vets, feed places, etc.......in your area

I think really that Freckles will agree that keeping horses in Spain is much the same as the UK without the rain all the time.

We do ahve to be aware of more flies and the extreme heat in the summer and in the winter, the extremes between day and night temps.

But apart from that, we can get UK food, English speaking vets and farriers and the facilities on the equestrian yards leave the UK standing.

hope this helps!

Yep I will agree with that, no mud fever bliss, saying that we do have quite a bit of rain where I am in the winter, but the fields dry out so quick, and I have to rug in winter as its gets VERY cold here at night. (im up a mountain)

Ive got an english speaking horse vet, though I could not get a reliable good farrier, so im are all barefoot now, and I trim them myself, (though their feet look great and are nice and hard)
