Hi,
As you know, we recently lost my mare. George is doing OK, although a little unnerved by it all. I'm conscious of winter approaching and because I like him to stay out as much as possible and the other people on the yard tend to bring in for 20 hours a day (!), I need to consider taking in a pony/horse as a companion from about October-March time.

It might be that you've recently broken your horse and want to turn it away at minimum cost over winter, or maybe you've got a retired horse and need a rest from the cost for a while? Whatever, we don't mind. We are very loving owners of a 15.1hh welsh d who is great around other horses but needs a friend. We have a stable with rubber matting if needed, but ideally the pony/horse would be able to live out as much as possible, rugged or unrugged.

Thank you.x

I know someone who wants to turn her mare away until spring when it will be covered. However you may be a little far, but I can put the location to her and see what she says? The mare will live out 24/7 rugged up very happily, and she is a beautiful palomino

I was looking to turn our pony away for the winter, all his other field companions will be coming in, but he's a grass livery and I would prefer him to stay out.
(3 y/o welsh sec a gelding)

Hi,

We are in bristol. i have a well handled yearling sec A gelding about 11.2hh who you can borrow. he will live out 24/7, dont know if he will be any use he will only be turned out on our winter fields with the broodmares

Oh how tempting - do I really want to face another winter with my horse?

I would love for her to live out but unfortunately where I am they are very precious about their fields (and quite rightly so) so if its very wet (ie: the last three years!) they have to stay in and I will admit that exercising everyday in the pouring rain tends to lose its appeal

Along with a family, a job, shooting etc

But could I live without her? How would I cope without that routine?

Hi - my boy has to be turned away for a year for bone spavin and i am thinking about a companion home for him just whilst he recovers (he needs to be turned out as much as possible and thats just not possible here). I'm in Surrey but wouldn't mind bringing him down. He's a very gentle 14.2 connemara x who lives in or out happily and is absolutly no trouble. PM me if your interested.

thanks

I know someone with a palomino 14.2hh welsh D who might well be interested. He lives out 100% of the time with a rug and is a really good do-er and very low mainteance. He also has spavin - hence the time off required - PM me if of interest and I will speak to her?
